Katana Integration
Speedshield Technologies has recently taken on Katana as its enterprise software system to control its manufacturing and distribution. Integrated Shipping Process
Having an integrated connection between Katana and 2Ship means that orders that have been identified as packed within Katana automatically flow through to the 2Ship order queue. This includes the Speedshield order contents. Katana passes to 2Ship the sku code of the products. 2Ship then automatically looks up this sku code in the 2Ship commodity table and automatically populates the incoming shipment with all the contents of the order into the Shipment. This can include the contents’ weight dimensions and value of the contents.
2Ship has the ability to then automatically determine the optimum method for packing the order contents into the Speedshield shipping cartons and automatically populate the dimensions of those shipping outers into the shipment. From here, Speedshield staff can check for the least cost carrier rates, select the carrier and print out the carrier compliant shipping labels.
Once the shipment has been processed in 2Ship the carrier’s shipping costs, the tracking number and url are automatically pushed back to Katana so that Speedshield staff can easily look at Katana to see how the shipment is progressing for customer service purposes, as well as to determine the shipping cost as a part of the total order cost, if needed.
International Freight Shipping Documents
One of the great benefits of using 2Ship over some other platforms is that 2Ship supports lodging customs documentation electronically with the major international parcel and pallet carriers like DHL. This means that Speedshield can now easily lodge their customs declarations, commodity details and commercial invoice electronically right from within 2Ship for DHL. This even includes uploading their China/Australia free trade documentation for shipments to China right from within 2Ship. Again, the tracking and shipping cost details or these international shipments are pushed back to Katana for total shipment management.
